Our client is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Tax Partner to join their prestigious New York office. The firm provides top-tier tax advisory services, working closely with business clients on a variety of complex tax matters. You will have the opportunity to advise on key business transactions, from entity formation and operation to structuring compensation plans and managing the tax implications of business sales and investor admissions.
Responsibilities:
- Advise business clients on federal and state tax implications of various business transactions, including entity formation, operating distributions, and employee compensation structuring.
- Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies for mergers, acquisitions, sales, and investor admissions.
- Continuously assess changes in federal and state income tax laws, new legislation, administrative announcements, and case law, applying these developments to client cases.
- Collaborate closely with the firm's international taxation and corporate attorneys to ensure comprehensive advice on cross-border transactions.
- Provide thought leadership on tax planning issues and lead efforts to develop innovative solutions to complex tax challenges.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; LLM in Taxation is highly preferred.
- Extensive experience in tax law, with a strong focus on advising business clients on tax matters related to business transactions.
- Deep knowledge of federal and state tax laws, regulations, and case law, including experience with international taxation and cross-border transactions.
- Proven track record of success in representing clients before the IRS and state tax authorities.
- Admission to the New York State Bar.
